Web of Power: Magic: The Gathering Swings Into the Spider-Verse

Just when you thought Magic: The Gathering couldn’t get any wilder, Wizards of the Coast says, “Hold my web-shooter.” The Marvel crossover continues with one of the most beloved heroes of all time: Spider-Man. Introducing Spider-Man: Web of Power – a multiversal, wall-crawling adventure that fuses super-heroics with MTG strategy in the most web-slinging way possible.

This set isn't just about Peter Parker. Web of Power explores the entire Spider-Verse—featuring fan favourites like Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man 2099, Silk, Spider-Ham, and even villains like Venom, Green Goblin, and Doctor Octopus. Every card captures the energy, quirk, and heart that makes Spider-Man iconic.

Set in a kaleidoscopic clash of universes, the art and flavour are pulled straight from comic panels, animated scenes, and big-screen epics.

New Mechanics

  • With Great Power – A new keyword ability that gives your creature +X/+X or an ability if you control a Planeswalker or Hero permanent.

  • Multiversal Shift – Exile a card with Multiversal Shift, then choose one of three alternate versions of it from outside the game to cast. Spider-Verse chaos at its finest.

  • Webbed – A new status effect: creatures that are Webbed can't attack, block, or activate abilities unless their controller pays 2 mana per action.

Heroes & Villains to Watch

  • Spider-Man, Friendly Neighbourhood – A low-cost legendary creature with Flash, Reach, and a “saves other creatures” mechanic.

  • Miles Morales, Next Gen Hero – A dynamic dual-colour planeswalker (Red/Black) with stealth and spark.

  • Venom, Symbiote Apex – A terrifying beat stick that uses Webbed to control the board.

  • Green Goblin, Chaos from Above – Deals damage to random targets, throws Pumpkin Bomb tokens, and rides a glider made of pure value.

This is Magic: The Gathering like you’ve never seen it before. Web of Power doesn’t just pay homage to Spider-Man—it rewires the game around his ethos: responsibility, resilience, and heart. Whether you're a Marvel fan crossing over or a Magic veteran ready to swing into something fresh, this set is a web worth getting caught in.
